What Extra Benefits Will You Get by Becoming A PADI Diving Instructor with The Waterhoppers?
Firstly, you will feel proud that you have completed the IDC (instructor Development Course) and passed your IE (Instructors Exam) which we will make as easy as possible for you. Then you will get that sudden rush of emotion and joy, realising that you are a PADI Instructor and you can now teach others to do what you love!!!
That’s just the start, becoming a PADI Instructor (OWSI – Open Water Scuba Instructor or a MSDT – Master Scuba Diver Trainer), then you start to work as one. Teaching diving will teach you many, including things about yourself.
The life of a diving instructor is exciting, fun, endlessly fascinating and a great way to see the world. You will get to live in places and do things that people only dream of! Some will only dream and the others save up their time and money for 50 weeks a year to spend two weeks doing what you do daily, you get paid to do it! (What could be better?)
“Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” Said Mark Twain, smart man.
But there are a few things to think about, when becoming a PADI Instructor. As a job it demands physical fitness, mental strength, and emotional resilience and it can also get a little tiring. The responsibility of keeping people safe underwater is a big one, and as a diving instructor you needs to be ready for anything, from changeable conditions, bad weather and equipment malfunctions, but you can prepare for all these with a little forward thinking. The skills you learn as an instructor aren’t just for the water, you can put them to good use on land also.
It’ll boost your confidence
After becoming a PADI diving instructor with The Waterhoppers, every day will bring a new challenge – somethings you’ve never seen, heard of, or done before. It’s up to you to face those challenges with your best battle-smile on and draw from similar experiences.
Once you have completed your IDC with The Waterhoppers, not only will you have had access to very experienced instructors on you pre-IDC bootcamp, but you will also the opportunity gain teaching experience with the same Instructors as part of The Waterhoppers Dive team. Who can help you develop your skills, experience and people skills further, while engaging with all PADI programs DSD to DiveMaster. Meaning you will be more confident when meeting new people, working in new locations and showing a calmness even if you feel a little under pressure.
You’ll meet amazing people
Diving can and will take you to incredible places, where you can see some amazing things, both above and below the water. It’s also means that you will meet all sorts of different people from all sorts of cultures and backgrounds. You will get to dive with all sorts, you’ll just never know, but with the extra confidence gained through learning and teaching with The Waterhoppers, it’s so much fun finding out.
There will be times where you just have to pinch yourself, because life is so good. That’s way becoming a PADI Instructor will make you feel lucky. Lucky that you the opportunity to have so many different experiences that you will never forget them.
You’ll learn to take pride in your achievements
There’s nothing more rewarding than someone telling you ‘Wow – I never thought I’d be able to do that. Thank you!’
Having someone enter the water with nervous excitement and unsure of themselves, then becoming a confident diver with a new-found love for the ocean and respect for themselves, is an amazing feeling. You know that they couldn’t have done it without you!
People make huge emotional investments when it comes to diving, so if you can build someone’s confidence, or teach them something new, then you should be proud of yourself, too.
The journey to becoming a (great) PADI diving instructor is challenging, rewarding, and never-ending. There’s always something new to learn, see, or do, so as long as you stay open-minded and confident in yourself and your abilities, it’s a journey you’ll enjoy more than any other.
